How was your long weekend everyone? The Palos fireworks were the best ever this year! Before I started the holiday on Friday, I wrapped up an E-design for a teen in California. Her room hasn’t been decorated since she was a little girl and it needed an update to give it a grown up look ……..
Here’s what I had to work with ………. Josie’s room is small with a built-in dresser and built-in platform bed that has drawers. There’s an awesome window seat too. The best thing though in Josie’s room is her Scrapbook Map. She has a large U.S.A. map on the wall. Whenever she travels, she takes a selfie with her friends or family at a landmark. Then she prints out the photo and cuts it to the shape of the particular state to paste it on the map in the appropriate place. Isn’t that clever?
As usual, our design discussions started out with a Concept Board. The walls are currently a dark eggplant so we’re going to lighten the room with fresh white paint and navy accents …………
Now here’s my design dilemma: Josie has oodles and oodles of award ribbons which she proudly loves to display – and rightly so. However, how do you display the ribbons without it looking like a hot mess? My idea was to hang a beautiful polished nickel towel bar on the wall. Every time Josie wins another ribbon, she can easily hang it up.
What do you think Dear Readers? Do you thumbs-up or thumbs-down my idea of a towel bar to display a teen’s award ribbons? ♥ and if you or your kids would love your very own E-design, press this link and head over to Design With Me, I’d love to work with you.
