Remember when I decorated a 3-Season Room for a family in Wheaton? Well, I’ve been lucky enough to design another summer space for Beth, who owns a Michigan lakehouse.
The home, which is new construction, has already been painted with Benjamin Moore’s “Quiet Moments” and my clients are a family of all boys. Needless to say the home has to stand up to summer sand and lots of happy energy.
Beth wanted a space that says sit down and get comfortable after a day at the beach – and a lakeside home that’s not too literal in beach-theme.
The home is open concept – the kitchen with an island, family dining table and living room are all in view together so the design must be cohesive.
I immediately began to create a checklist of Must-Haves with a list of furnishings that I knew I had to incorporate in the design – furnishings that were a bit rustic like driftwood washed upon the shore yet still pretty and fresh ….
I know Beth’s family will have many happy summers in their newly decorated lakehouse. It was a real pleasure designing such a beautiful home with my client.
