Upcycled chairs found in trash and on Pinterest

kris-10-10-e1410709127708-300x247[1]Quick post today because I’m going to a Bucktown estate sale. Do you all remember my Neighbor’s Nest that I decorated in sophisticated (not shabby) chic style using trash? If you missed it, you can press this link.

I had talked about finding her kitchen chairs on the road next to trash cans and they were in perfect condition and just needed a wash and a quick coat of paint. I had chosen gray paint and was inspired by the painting I had purchased for her kitchen wall (there’s raspberry pink in the adjoining living room) ….

She was excited I found these free chairs for her apartment and here they are in her kitchen…

The real purpose of this post, though, is to show you that I found another set of these chairs on Pinterest. Don’t they look fab outside and combined with a country swing and a mid-century mod coffee table? I just love the interest that vintage furnishings bring to a modern space, don’t you?

Happy Friday dear readers and for those of you who are joining me shoveling or living in  a deep freeze this weekend, let’s hit an estate sale or thrift store for fun this weekend and next week let me know what you found!

SEE BELOW – Looks like there’s a good one at 2350 N. Damen, Chicago, today and tomorrow. Check out this awesome vintage blueprint cabinet at the home, how fab to store artwork or use as a dining room sideboard …. 🙂
