Rounding up the final items for staging a home for sale in Palos Heights, Illinois

The house which I am to stage is almost ready for my final stage and I really can’t wait. I changed my plan for the mantel from my original vision and am finally content with the items. Here’s one of the days near the beginning of the remodel when I peeked in at the house to see progress and make some notes …

At first I had a vision of a beachy blue theme, everyone likes a vacation, right? and I want the house to be as mass-market friendly as it could (not too taste-specific). However, when I brought these few items over to the house, I “wasn’t feeling this look”  …

And then the tile and cabinets came in …

and decided instead to go with a rustic chic theme (warm and inviting). So I began hunting and gathering to get the look. I already had the chairs in storage and I found this table at a reasonable price, along with some sunny yellow pillows. I don’t want too much on the walls – always hung with 3-M removable hooks – after all we are selling the house itself, a place for a family to nest (although most of my furniture is always for sale if buyer wishes). I began playing around at home away from the dust and getting my vision into place  …

DSCN9664I’ll bring in my love of pops of color in the bedrooms. So until I’m able to bring all the furniture in,  I’m stacking more items and “making my list and checking it twice”. I think it’s going to be fantastic and the house is really beautiful – – Stay tuned! (I’m spray painting my own son’s trophy to coordinate it with the staged boy’s room bedding) …baseball
